INternship

IGE Placement Program

IGE sources internship and training opportunities in the United States for foreign students and young professionals wishing to learn about American business and advance your career skills. Each employer is vetted by IGE.

You must have sufficient English skills as well as funds to support yourself for the entire length of the program in the United States, including housing and living expenses, and you must apply for positions that are directly related to your educational background or work experience. 

AVAILABLE Intern POSITIONS

Import/Export Operations

Program Number: 2210

Program Duration: 12-18 months

Location: Chicago, IL 

Housing & Meals: Lunch provided on Wednesday

Stipend:  $19.00/hour  

Host Company Description:  

The company is a Freight Forwarding, 3PL & VMI Service Provider, Customs Broker, Interstate Trucking Broker–One Stop Logistics Solution–established in 1995.

Applicant Qualification: You must be an undergraduate/graduate student majoring in Logistics or a related field OR a recent graduate who will begin the program within 12 months of the graduation date.

Training Includes:  Preparing and processing import/export documents, coordinating the movement of goods, and ensuring timely customs clearance and delivery. The position also involves regular communication with clients, agents, and partners via phone and email to provide shipment updates and resolve any logistics issues.

Front Desk, F&B Program

Program Number: 2208

Program Duration: 12 months

Location:  Toledo, OH  

Housing & Meals: Not provided

Stipend:  $11.50/hour + Tips

Applicant Qualification: You must be an undergraduate/graduate student majoring in a field related to hospitality, tourism, or restaurant management OR a recent graduate who will begin the program within 12 months of the graduation date.

Training Includes: Responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and check-ins/check-outs, handling payments, addressing concerns, providing concierge services, performing administrative tasks, supporting food and beverage service, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety and service standards while collaborating with the team.

F&B, Front Desk Operations Program

F&B, Front Desk Operations Program

Program Number: 2207

Program Duration: 12 months

Location: Waltham, MA 

Housing & Meals: A room with us for the first 2 weeks 

Stipend: $18.00/hour

Host Company Description: Located in Waltham, MA, offering convenient access to both downtown Boston and the surrounding suburbs.  The hotel provides a range of amenities, including free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, an indoor pool, and a fitness center. 

Applicant Qualification: You must be an undergraduate/graduate student majoring in a field related to hospitality, tourism, or restaurant management OR a recent graduate who will begin the program within 12 months of the graduation date.

Training Includes: Responsible for greeting guests, managing check-ins/check-outs, handling reservations, payments, and room assignments, addressing guest concerns, providing concierge services, and performing administrative tasks while maintaining an organized front desk.

Culinary Program

F&B, Front Desk Operations Program

Housing & Meals: 1 week of free housing upon arrival

Training Includes: Assisting with food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. The role offers exposure to various cooking techniques and a wide range of cuisines across multiple dining venues.

Program Number: 2205

Program Duration: 12 months

Location: Honolulu, HI

Housing & Meals: Lunch and Laundry Provided

Stipend: $18.00/hour

This modern hotel provides well-appointed rooms with stunning ocean or city views, ensuring a relaxing stay for leisure and business travelers alike. 

Applicant Qualification: You must be an undergraduate/graduate student majoring in a field related to hospitality, tourism or restaurant management OR a recent graduate who will begin the program within 12 months of the graduation date.

Training Includes: Welcoming guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, addressing inquiries providing information about the hotel's amenities, serving as the first point of contact for guests upon arrival. Assisting Front office Manager with daily duties and operations.

Training Includes: Shadowing and observing the supervisor in F&B operations, operation management, and customer relations

Training Includes: Shadowing and observing the supervisor in inventory management, purchasing procedures, sales data analysis and communication with suppliers/vendors

Applicant Qualification: You must be an undergraduate/graduate student majoring in a field related to accounting or finance OR a recent graduate who will begin the program within 12 months of the graduation date. 

Training Includes: Shadowing and observing the supervisor in Accounting Software, Corporate Finance, Payroll System, Accounts Payables/Receivables and Corporate Tax.
